Ananthan Thangavel – Founder, Managing Director

As Managing Director, Mr. Thangavel is responsible for the strategic direction of Lakshmi Capital as well as all investment decisions. He has been recognized by major financial media as a thought leader in commodity and forex markets, and macroeconomic theory.  Mr. Thangavel received his B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University and his J.D. from UCLA School of Law. He founded Lakshmi Capital after interfacing with investment managers and managing money on behalf of his family office during the financial crisis. From this experience, he realized that with a differentiated investment strategy and the perspective of an industry outsider, he could outperform for clients while improving the client experience.
